Can't Run "network Setup Wizard"

Featured Replies

Hey, when I double click network setup wizard on my lenovo laptop I get an hourglass for a second then nothing. (I'm trying to network my laptop to my pc with a switching hub) It simply won't run. I tried googling and get nothing useful.

Might help posters to know operating system(s) in use.

In XP the Network Wizard may not start up if it can not find a connection.

Make sure you use the correct cable between PC or Laptop and the hub/switch.

It has to be a 'straight' cable whereas you have to use a 'crossover' cable when connecting the PC directly to the Laptop.

To first check your NIC is configured correctly and Enabled! To find out, right click on the Connection Icon and Properties!

Any way, more info are very usefull if you want a reliable help!

Hmm ya I'm pretty sure I'm using crossover cables for both my pc and laptop to the switch on windows xp. You're saying I need to get straight cables? I was positive I was using this setup last year and it worked fine.....

Ya the nic seems to be configured ok and it is enabled.

I can network when using firewire as a connection.

I can see the laptop from my pc, I just cant see anything from the laptop and I cannot get the network setup wizard to work on the laptop at all, it simply wont start.
