I want to register three domain names, but use a hosting service that doesn't register them (they only do one on sign-up). I was thinking about using register.com or godaddy.com to get the domain name, then transfer it to a host. Is there extra fees in this?

I don't need the site right away, but I want to secure the domain name for a future company name.

Any suggestions on the best way to do this (lowest price, ease of transfer) appreciated!

send me a pm, we do it for just 10 bucks a year including registration fee, and when you decide your hosting partner we sort that out for free.

You don't need to worry about transferring your domain name per se - just follow the simple instructions of almost any web host and your domain will be correctly pointed in 24-48 hours, at no charge.

Godaddy holds about 120 of my domain names. Depending on the domain name/extension you want, it could be as low as $1.99 for the first year (.info).

I've used some of the advice above and registered a couple of names.

I would hate to develop a product, then find out someone snagged the name when I was ready to start promoting it!

Thanks for the help!
