Taking a motorbike by train

Featured Replies

Anyone had an experience taking a Motor bike by train from Issan through Bangkok and maybe into Pattaya?

We will be leaving Urbon and taking our new bike to Pattaya/Jomtian and wonder has anyone had experiance with the rail network involving a bike?

It's a pretty simple procedure: just turn up at the station and tell them that you wish to load the bike on the train (although you need to be able to speak Thai or be with a Thai, and assuming there is sufficient space (there always is), they'll simply load it on, but will generally tell you to disembark at Samsen rather than Hualampong. The cost is pretty cheap: the last time I did this was from Surin and the charge was in the region of B800.

To get from BKK to Pattaya, your best bet is to find a driver with a pick-up and expect to pat B800-1000, including passengers.
