Ubuntu Installation Cd...

Featured Replies

Greetings...I'm looking to change my OS from Windows to Ubuntu/Linux but my internet connection is too slow (2 kps) to download the 700 megs...and haven't yet been able to track down a location to acquire one (the Ubuntu website will send one but wants six to ten weeks...)...I'd appreciate any pointers in how to find one...thanks...

on-disk.com can send out most any distro for a small fee, would like to be alot faster.  Next to the Ubuntu you will see PClinuxOS distro as recommended so do I BTW, but Ubuntu is vary Popular.  I think you can get a DVD version at on-disk which will be three times as much content as the live cd can hold, people without DVD R get them because they can't burn their own.

PM me, and i can post a copy to you................no problem!

i run linux mint (ubuntu derivative) on my computer, and i'm very happy with it....

BUT, i think ubuntu might not be for you if you have a slow connection, as you need to download updates, additional codecs, programs from the repositories, etc.

if you have a laptop, you can take it somewhere with a high speed connection. if not, well, you may have to leave your computer on overnight to get the downloads.

if you live near seacon square, you can pm me and drop by my office and i'll give u a copy.
