Tot Pop3/smtp

Featured Replies

I have been using web based mail, but it would be nice to get mail back on my desktop like the old days.  Yahoo hotmail etc charge for POP service.  I can't find a way to get a e mail address from my ISP(ToT) and use thier POP3/SMTP.  I connected with a few free services, but run into the same problem every time.  That Comcast.net the largest ISP in the US has blacklisted all these services and I can't send e mail to anyone that has a box with them.  Comcast has taken ownership of the WWW and is going to set policy for the rest of the world kind of like M$.  Does anyone know of a site to apply for and get an e mail address for To

T users and

and what is the server address exp. mail.tot.com or something like it. I would guess an ISP has e mail service for its users, but I am missing it.

If I understand you want a free standalone POP/SMTP email account to replace your existing webmail account?

If so, I use www.mail.com and have used www.gawab.com successfully in the past.

In the treads they are not using tot email accounts they have premium web based accounts and use pop/smtp to send and recieve rather then signing in online.  I was trying the free sites for POP, and they work as long as I don't need to send to anyone that uses Comcast in the states.  The ISP should be providing an email service so I can have an email account like [email protected] not yahoo or hotmail.  Comcast would not be blacklisting all of ToT, I know they did and often still blacklist all of AIS. When using GPRS I had to use web base mail only.  If I can get a ToT address then I should be able to use the pop/smtp to send and recieve my mail. I just can't find a way to get e mail service from the ISP. I may have to wait until I

get into town to the main

office of ToT.  Their web site seems to have nothing about e mail accounts. I ll try the two listed as well, hope that comcast is not blocking them also.

Why not give Gmail (Google mail) a try?

Free POP3 and SMTP and over 2GB mail box.

Surprize me. :D    I did not know gmail had free POP3.  Thanks :o

Ah - I think I understand.

Well I have a note of my email address provided by TOT as "(phonenumber)@silvercyber" though I guess it has a tot.co.th or something similar at the end. But I've never used it so am not sure.

I thought I had the POP/SMTP server settings here too, but don't. So this message has turned out to be much less helpful than I intended it to be :-/

I set up a gmail account seems to working fine, but his morning US time I will get responses from comcast.net which is the big concern, it should work.  I can't see them blocking gmail its to big to mess with. :o
