Skype: A Pin In The Eye Of The German Federal Police

Featured Replies

According to an Report from the german Federal Police the BKA (Bundes Kriminal Amt) the Police isn't able to capture and listen to the phone calls on the Skype Network. Same happens for messages send over the Chat system of Skype.

The system of Skype, which is using P2P Network split the Calls and Messages in many different parts which are send over a lot different "Server" which are changing at all times with no system or algorithm behind it. This data not traceable.

In an Meeting of the BKA they was a talking about to secretly doing an online search BEFORE the calls and/or messages are splitted. That can be done on the Senders computer only. This a very controversial way because it's a breach of the existing law and in Germany of the Constitution which garants the privacy of phone call and messages send from one person to an other.

The BKA also told at that meeting that Skype is the only system which they NOT able to hack and/or crack!

Not bad for my opinion!!

that's what they want you to think !

My opinion as well.

The BKA is pretty clever when it comes to IT surveillance.

I'm quite sure they can monitor Skype calls if need be.

I already use Skype but now you've told me that I'm most certainly not going to change to another VOI :o

Could be a good advertising slogan too, if they word it right all the anti-establishment types would flock to their door :D

Not just encrypting but splitting! And the last is the one which makes the mostly problem. To splitt the calls and messages and send them over uncounted connections which are impossible to trace that's the problem. If they can get somthing, they will never get the whols bunch of parts and as they are encrypted and than splitted it's with today technology impossible to get back together!

Ok according to an secret report from about 2 month ago the was able to hacking PGP, don't told which version, and that shows how clever they are!

But you really think they are able to trace a in uncounted pieces splitted call or message, puzzle them back together and after that hack the encryption?

It would be their dream but that's all, just a dream!
