Sure.

On the front passenger seat only though.

One of our trucks is a Spacecab, and I sometimes put the child safety seat in front. It's not quite as secure as in a 4 door car or truck in the back, but a lot better than the kid being in any kind of vehicle without a seat. :o

Obviously you have to make sure there's no front passenger air bag. (Or have it disabled).

In the back of a spacecab it won't fly because there's no seatbelts there, so it can't be secured there. If you're creative though then perhaps you can weld something securely in place in the bed of the truck, and place a carryboy cover on top.. I donno, steel cables going straght through the bed and welded to the frame.. something like that. :D

I can't quite visualise the seat back but if it folds down pull it down. You may find some holes in there which can be used with the fixing system of base units which are part of complete travel systems. You may need to purchase another length of harness or use something else but it can be done if the holes, more like cuts are there. Alternatovely, anything to which you can attach something securely can be used if you get the right fixing. You feed from one side through the base back under and up to the fixing on the other side. It will be for rear facing only for a baby but it is an option.

A Frend of mine had inertia reel seatbelts installed in the back of his Tiger Extra Cab (Same as space cab) for this exact purpose.

It was a squuze, but with the seatbelts installed he could get the childseat installed securely in the back. Cost him about 6,000THB from memory.

So are rear seatbelts in a smart cab a dealer-fit option with all the fixing points in from factory or? Some pickup makes and not others or? Would prefer a Vigo Smartcab but want rear seatbelts so if not a standard/safe option might have to go for a 4 door... Cheers for any help.
