Hotels Around End Of Feb

Hi all,

Hope you are all well -

Has anyone else found that the hotels within budget ranges eg (£10 - 20) are hard to come by.

Our usual hotel the 'Baiyoke' cannot fit us in on the 28th Feb - 3rd Mar.

This is a bad indicator I would suspect as its a very large hotel, and wondering what advice the local expat community could best suggest.

My other issue I'm finding is the service provider i use (hope its ok to post this = http://www.asiarooms.com) dont allow for instant conformation, leaving me 24-48 hours lag before I know if the hotel Ive chosen has availibility.

At that rate I could be here until next december trying to get a good deal!

Any advice or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

hello i would be very very surprised if you came here without booking a room for end of feb and wouldnt be able to find many at 650 to 1300 baht a night..........pattaya seems quieter every year now.....the only time i had trouble once before was when i came here at xmas 6 yrs ago without a prior booking and i had to share a room with my friend instead of have my own room and that was in popular location...im sure going out to second/third road i would have found something or even jomtien if pushed.remember websites often put on extra price for themselves......why not be slightly adventurous and get your taxi to take you round a few places in pattaya,im pretty sure soi bhukaow now has many many more rooms than ever before so a drive up there will find you a fairly nice room for your price range.

great advice Rob, and my thoughts exactly.

I like the idea of an adventure, but Im also an organiser - and would prefer to have it all planned out if you know where im coming from.

I am in pattaya for 5 days before i travel up east then back to pattaya - so have the opportunity in the first part of my visit to find a hotel.

will try this as a last resort before taking you on your advice, cheers mate.
