Good Watch Repairer

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

I need to get a new battery fitted for my Tag Heuer F1 watch. I bought it in the UK about 3 years ago, and now the battery warning has started flashing. As it cost over £2,000 I don't want some amateur trying to do it, and ending up breaking it. It's also waterproof to 100m, so needs to be sealed properly afterwards.

Any ideas/ recommendations would be gratefully received.

Royal Garden - second road end where they sell up market watches and spectacles. There is a technician there who repairs up market watches. He repaired my wife's Gucci, and my Omega. You can wait for the work to be done.

There's also a large 'stall' in Tops, downstairs. Again they sell watches and spectacles, and have a resident repair man. He looks OK but I have never tried him.

Thanks Mobi, I will check out Royal Garden.

Just out of interest I once had my Tag battery replaced by a certified dealer in Scotland and the seal never worked properly again - it was stolen before I got it fixed.

Just to point out the so called guaranteed work sometimes goes awry even if it was supposed to be tested in a pressure tank afterwards.

Mr.Wong in the smelly market South Pattaya Rd.Brilliant watch maker / repairer. He pressure tests them so you can witness its holding.Does a great job.

EPG.

Last week I asked M.Wong to chek a watch (original trade) not working. He checked battery and one day after said he can't repair because something wrong inside, but did not know exactly what it is. I was a little disapointed by this answer.

I used Mr Wong to change a battery in my Tag and he did a decent job, also fixed a few other watches.

Fortunatley my TAG is automatic but if I needed anything done to it I wouldn't let anyone touch it apart from an authorised TAG retailer/repairer due to how much it cost. Any reason to go to Bkk, I'd be tempted to have it done there?
