If he is pushing a mop on minimum wage, he's probably not paying much.

Yes you really should refund the Taxpayer for the prison time you served especially the high cost of the protection unit

People should report you to the ATO for renting your house in Australia to a friend for cash and not claiming it as income on your tax (fraud you admitted to in this thread). This is huge fraud because you are not only avoiding tax on the income but also the significant capital gains tax implications when you sell

Since you also keep saying ATO has brlliant automatic tracking of all of us, I'm sure the ATO will be able to track who you are by your online activities should someone hopefully report you...

I just thought I would jump on the gravy train like so many Aussie expat pensioners.  Many of whom post on this thread.

You know, the ones that sign the declaration that they are returning home to Australia for good, only to leave a day after pension portability is achieved.

As for the ATO catching me out.  Good luck with that.  The money is given to me in baht, in cash, in Thailand, by a non Thai tax resident.

Boss ! Boss ! Johnny took an extra 2 minutes on his lunch break boss !

I saw it boss ! I'm dobbin

I'm sure he's not playing with a straight bat living over here, as far as Centerlink and the ATO is concerned.

Exactly the reason why the proposed changes t tax residency were proposed in the first place.

Income from Australia is income from Australia, and that includes pensions.

Changed Thai address to my current Pattaya condo, again all sweet.Very amicable.Staffer conveyed  the recommeded phone contact for out of Oz enquiries the Tas toll free number. Regards, back home next week.  PS.. exit Bkk and entry PER.. Smooth as Silk!

Why wouldn't it be smooth as silk?  You have an Aussie passport.

The game hasn't started yet, but it will in the future, and then it will be as smooth as sandpaper.

How does Australian immigration know someone is on the OAP in order to tell Centerlink everytime that person leaves Australia?

Immigration doesn't have to know.

All immigration has do is inform other relevant government agencies, who need to be informed of such information, so they can take action.

You're welcome. I'm also a stickler for the rules and I also frequently return to Aus for holidays, but am not bothered to tell them when they state on their website that immigration tell them anyway.

So why do many members think the ATO is not in the loop also?  Why wouldn't they be?

I got the full OAP, then a bit later I left Oz and came to Thailand.

You have recently posted that you are on a DVA pension and how you only received a half payment, due to a technical error in Australia.

You can not be on both pensions.

Stop misleading readers.

So how do you also get a DVA pension?  You can't receive both pensions.

I added the bolding to the Access number from Thailand.

The above is cut from this main document:

https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/how-we-can-help-with-international-services?context=22471

You mentioned "...I may contact Centrelink in respect to a few of my OAP mates living in LOS ."  This is clearly not my business but I wonder if Centrelink officers would be allowed to discuss details regarding other members. Surely that would be a breach of privacy.

Your business entirely however I wonder if you might give the guys in Thailand the toll free number as above and suggest they call:

Thailand

001 800 611 4136

Calls to this number go direct to the CLink International office in Hobart. They don't bite. As with all gov't agencies nowadays all calls are recorded so it pays to be careful what you reveal.

Can you post the link to what you quoted, otherwise, it's just you "opinion."

I have a friend in Chiang Mai, on a full OAP. He gets $1076.00 per fortnight.

Good luck to you if you get more. However, I fail to see why there should be be two different pensions for the same situation.

That "more" may have to be paid back in the future.

I'm concerned as to what is confusing you because I tried to make my post very clear.

What is confusing you? Please share so I can try to relieve your confusion.

Meanwhile please don't jump.

What confuses people is you post about receiving an old aged pension and a DVA pension, and everyone knows you can not receive both pensions.

It goes to credibility.  Simple.  Really.
