Shot this about 10 years ago. Canon EOS 1n 50mm F1.0 - Velvia pushed to 200 asa. I guess about 1/30th at F2.8

Really dingy interior section of the complex. No real light on the Monk.

I was anxious to retain the window detail but in the absence of a flash for fill-in I compromised with the exposure hoping to later burn in the window.

10 years later Lightroom made it possible!

A difficult shot, but you managed to keep the light on the monk's face

and the detail on the Buddha image.

I find the grill on the window behind the monk's head rather distracting,

but then you had little choice.

Overall I would say good, but not outstanding.

So do I. Otherwise nice shot (and good job printing).

I'm surprised you had EF50mm F1.0L. Do you still have it?

In my eyes I needed the window to provide depth and an illuminated background to separate the Monk from the dingy interior. The original shot is almost a silhouette. - but your points taken

F1.0 lens was rubbish; supplied as a promotion but handed back quickly. Current 50mm F1.4 miles better.
