monty
TT&T sold me a adsl modem/router from the brand Xavi, model x8124r. I'm still waiting for my ADSL line to be activated so as yet I've no idea if it'll work properly or not. Some research seems to show their website went dead some time ago... http://www.xavi.com.tw Went through the supplied manual already and the thing seems very extensively configurable with a firewall, access controls, freely managable port forwarding etc... Normally I manage to get through most hick-ups with help from support forums, but in this case I can't seem to find anything... Anybody out there using the same stuff??? Richard-BKK
Hello Monty, I have no problems opening the Xavi website, maybe it is a problem with your Internet provider. Can you specify your problems in a bit more detail? With kind regards, Richard
lopburi3
I could not get the site to load from his link and had to add a backslash at the end. Next time I tried the link it loaded fine.
monty
Yesterday the WAN light on the Xavi router came on, indicating the tel exchange activated the adsl network. Just had to punch in my JI-net username and password in the setup screen of the router and was on-line. This one went amazingly well!!! Indicated speed internationally hovers between 150 and 220 kbps, so I'm very happy. Eventhough download speeds on my iptv are higher (never below 240kbps) the use of the internet seems just much faster on adsl, mainly because faster response, lower ping times.... All this for the same price as iptv, but hey, no more paying for extra Megabytes
