Hello again everyone :o

My wife gained her settlement Visa in January and on the 28th went back to Thailland to visit her family.

My question is we would like her 5yrs old daughter to return with my wife to visit us in March for 2 months so which Visa do i need? Also my wife is the sole parent and her mother takes care of her whilst in Thailand, cheers for the replies,

Phill

If you wish your step-dauighter to visit, she will need a visit visa. This cannot be later substituted for settlement status. Sole responsibility is not a factor in relation to visit visas, but your step-daughter will have to otherwise meet the requirements of the Immigration Rules for visitors.

Hi Scouse, Do i need to send documentry evidence of me and my wifes relationship again or is it enough now to state that her mother has a settlement visa and we live together in England. Obviously i will send bank statements and proof of my home etc and the sponsor letter, thanks

Phil,

You won't need to demonstrate your relationship with your wife, but, instead, that of your wife and her daughter. The embassy will expect to see evidence of contact between the two of them.

Including phone calls your wife has made to her daughter, letters, cards and money transfers will all help your case. Dont know how far the embassy will look into this but there is always a case of the daughter not returning and not having a reasonable reason to return.

You did mention that your wife is the sole parent!!!!!

Do you mean the daughter has no father? Or do your mean the mother has the sole responcibility of your daughter including the letter from the Amphur?
