Ups Is Beeping After Being Switched Off

Occasionally, after switching off the UPS, I hear some clicking which doesn't bother me. Lately I heard beeping sounds inside the UPS after having switched off both the UPS and computer for more than 2 hours. What's going on and should I change anything ?

Battery might be going. If UPS has an indicator panel - check the message on the front. (usually a symbol of sorts) Then check what the manual says about it.

The UPS is only 2 months old, so the battery should be okay. (?)

Although I regularly switch off the UPS, I never switch off the multiple socket in which the UPS is plugged, is this okay or non okay ?

Beeping normally means that the UPS is switched on and is supplying power to something, but it is not receiving mains supply.

I have a UPS with a cheap on/off switch at the front that went faulty and I couldn't be sure it was on or off - something had broken inside the switch. I replaced the switch and it is now OK. Maybe your on/off switch is faulty too?

This is OK and normal - leave the UPS connected to the mains so that it is constantly being charged, but switch off its outputs using the on/off switch on the UPS.
