Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?

I can't remember whether this one has been posted before, but here goes:

There are 7 girls in a bus

Each girl has 7 backpacks

In each backpack, there are 7 cats

For every cat there are 7 kittens

Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

Hint: There is nobody else on the bus. All the girls and all the cats and kittens have the normal number of legs.

Congratulations Crossy. Hint: There is nobody else on the bus. All the girls and all the cats and kittens have the normal number of legs.

Let's work through this

There's 7 girls. Each girl has 7 backpacks. Total backpacks = 49.

Each backpack has 7 cats. Multiply 49 x 7 = 343 cats.

Each cat has 7 kittens. Multiply 343 x 7 = 2401 kittens.

Total of cats and kittens is 343 + 2401 = 2744 animals.

Each of the animals has 4 legs. 2744 x 4 = 10,976

Each of the 7 girls has 2 legs. 7 x 2 = 14

Total is 10,976 + 14 = 10,990.
