Hi all

This is a gross post - sorry in advance.

I must finaly throw the towell in and accept that I have warts on my old chap.

I noticed two small bumps on the underside of my foreskin several weeks ago.... the power of denial prevented me from worrying about it but now, alas, the bumps have grown and they resemble two small cauliflower florettes.

Im single - so have no partner to worry about infecting although for obvious reasons, my weekend 'sanuk' has been put on hold for some weeks now. I had sex with a bar girl a couple of months ago and the condom broke. I didnt realise untill right at the very end. Typicaly of my luck, it seems that this one and only time that i have 'barebacked' with a bar girl, i have picked up a dose.

I have no idea what to do. I have googled the subject and it seems this is one hel_l of a common STD. The options include laser removal, 'freezing' or cream. I just want to go for the quickest, least hassle remedy. I have googled 'Thailand STD clinic'but nothing much comes up.

Can anyone sugest options? if there is a known over the counter sollution that works quickly, please do let me know and i will hunt it down. Alternativley, can anyone reccomend a clinic/hospital in Bangkok where i can litteraly get the little bastards removed same day?

Many kind thanks

dosed,

been there done that, no need to be alarmed.

go to any chemist/pharmacy and by a corn removal kit, it comes in a small bottle about the size of a bottle of snopake/tippex.

apply it liberally, for a couple of days.

now for the fun part, lie in a hot bath for about 5 minutes to give the water a chance to soak in, pull off the white residue in one fast motion, the gross part is making sure you get the roots out, dont be alarmed if the old chap resembles a garden hose, time will cure it, it will be tender for a few days.

i tried freezing by liquid nitrogen, after 2 or 3 visits it wasnt working, the nurse wasnt getting it in far/deep enough.

you want to know about pain and delayed reaction, when she told me i could stand up i almost passed out.

it wasnt painful when the cotton bud tip hit the infectd area, because it freezes it, after 3 or 4 seconds of keeping it in place then removing the cotton bud is when the pain kicked in.

i know nothing of laser removal so cant comment.

also surprised when you say a couple of months, most stds kick in before that, the sad thing is the person who infected you is probably unaware of being infected herself.

good luck with whatever option you choose, the corn removal worked for me, and havent had a problem with the warts coming back, and that was about 15 years ago.

Do not use over -the-counter wart remedies on genital warts! Genital warts are caused by HPV which is a different virus than causes other bodily warts.

HPV can never be "cured" from the body, however the warts are easy to remove. There are a variety if ways but you need to go to your doctor to get them removed.

Once you have HPV you increase the risk of cancer and will need to be checked more regularly (every 3 to 5 years).

Condoms do not prevent the spread of HPV 100% although do reduce the risk greatly. Warts can be found on the anus, penis, vulva and scrotum.

HPV can cause complications in newborns so you will need to keep in mind this new found friend of yours! for any future wife/gf and offspring.

Good Luck :o

By corn removal kit, do you mean a standard over the counter wart remover? As in, the type of kit that you would buy to remove a wart from your hand? I might be willing to give that a go - but some of the health sites i have visted strongly advise against that; they say it can leave the old chap red roar.

I dont have a bath - so i guess i would have to plonk the old boy into a bowl of warm water for 5 minutes.

Just so im clear, you are saying that this is the method;

* Apply corn removing lotion to the warts a few times a day, for a few days.

* Old chap/warm water for 5 minutes after 3 days

* Dry off old chap, then....... at this point i have to ask, is there like a 'film' over the wart from where you have been applying the lotion? Like a residueof glue? If so, you rip off the residue quickly and the wart should come with it. Yup?

I would be willing to give that ago - just reasure me though.... when you rip it off, you dont rip anything else off with it? I have visions of my foreskin ripping off here.

nce i have done that, if it works, ill need medicine of some sort. Warts are virul, so i will need medicine to attacke the virus to prevent it coming back. I would imagine, by now, there are other warts growing, yet i cant see any.

Any suggestions for 'post ripping' medicine? I hear amoxcycillin or something is pretty strong virus medicine?

Thanks Thaiclan.

If i decide to go see a doctor - i have no idea where to go. Im a couple of hours from BKK but would rather go to BKK than my local quacks. Any suggestions for the best specialist place for this kind of thing?

dosed,

i will try to answer your questions.

yes i meant an over the counter corn removal lotion that can be bought in most chemist shops.

yes it leaves the old chap red raw, bear in mind you are tearing the warts out and some layers of skin will come with it.

exactly as you have said, apply for 3 days 2 or 3 times a day.

this will leave a residue like glue on the affected areas.

this residue will become firm and dry, thats why you need to soak in warm water for a few minutes, dont bother drying off, remove the residue while it is damp.

yes do it in one fast motion, the wart will come out roots and all.

after removal the area will be tender.

if you can get terramycin anti biotics, i have found that to be better/stronger than amoxill.

i dont the the size or where your warts are exactly, however if in doubt, i advise you to get expert medical help.

if you would rather go to bangkok for treatment you may have to go at least twice, once at least for treatment and probably a check up after finishing treatment.

the only thing i will say, is you do decide to go to bangkok for treatment there are many alternatives to a certain hospital on sukhumvit soi 3.

good luck.

best that you dont waste your time or risk your health with over the counter nonsense , get yourself to a dermatology clinic at one of bangkoks better hospitals and let the professionals sort you out , unless you want to end up with like this ....

Thanks for the posts people - especialy RGS.

I have bit the bullet and booked in to Bumingrad tommorow afternoon. Im actualy booked into to see an 'infections specialist', i figure thats close enough. I guess its better to be safe. Plus, without being graphic, the location of the problem may not permit me to rip the bastards off - they are right on my banjo string. The last thing i want is to rip that off also.

I just hope i dont get stung at Bumingrad... i dont mind paying 4/5/6,000 baht for a quick in and out job - any more than that, ill cringe a little. They are not stitch up merchants over there, are they?

I was just about to tuck into a plate of cauliflower cheese, and now you've put me right off. :o:D

tax was that necessary mate???

britmaveric , i googled genital warts .. images , and that was one of the "more appetising" pictures on display !!

some sickening horrors on display there.

the op should really get proper advice on his warts , i understand that removal is a very simple and painless matter and nothing to fear , but a dermatologist will be able to explain properly the nature of the disease , the nature of the treatment and the chances of a recurrence in the future and how to avoid passing on or contracting these warts again.

whereas a chemist will just happily sell you a bottle of bleach that may but probably wont eradicate the warts and tell you to "go away and dip your knob in this every six hours"

Its a virus so anti-biotics are useless.....

Might help to avoid an infection where the wart has been uprooted...

PS: all disclaimers apply. Not quite sure if this "over-the-counter" method is [capital] it

tax was that necessary mate??? :D:o:D :D :D :D

If it gets the OP on the right track it's served it's purpose and necessity regardless of how :D the image is.

To the OP, the Bumrungrad is the finest place to go. They will fix it for sure and, in my experience, are not rip off merchants but whatever they charge it will be peanuts compared with ending up like taxexiles little piccy.

<edit, just realised the OP posted yesterday he was going to the Bumrungrad today so am a bit late. Mental note : check the <deleted>'g dates before replying>

Let's hope he's good enough to get back to us and let us all know how he gets on--jeez, one condom doesn't necessarily help reduce risk--what about 5 or 6?

Prevention and not cure

Just out of interest I just asked a Dr specialising in the HPV vaccines

Gardasil would protect you as a guy from genital warts caused by type 6 and 11 but there are about 30 other HIV type that cause warts so its not the be all and end all.

Wart report.....

Visited Bumrungrad (spelling?) yesterday. The doc took a quick look and confirmed i have two warts. For the record, they look nothing like Tax's picture but if you can imagine (should you wish to) 2 small cauliflower flourettes on the tip of my shaft, on the banjo string, about 5mm wide, you have an idea. Im amazed how quickly these two little curious spots have turned into ugly looking layered warts in a few days.

The doc gave me two options; freeze the bastards there and then, or take cream at home. Freezing them may or may not work - all depends if they get the root or not. Cream, he says, will likely work eventualy but may take several weeks.

I jumped on the bed expecting the doctor (late 50's, Thai Chinese with American accent) to do the 'excuvation work' only to find, 2 minutes later, a very cute Thai nurse, early 20's, putting the rubber gloves on.

I bottled it, and went for the cream.

So i have three small saches of Aldara cream to apply daily, over the coming week or two. Apparently Aldara cream does not directly attack the wart, but actualy stimulates the imune system to focus on that specific area. I have googled it, and it has good reviews with many success storys after around 3 weeks, on average.

I was pleasenatly suprised at the 1200 baht bill, including cream. I pulled 10,000 baht out of the ATM in preperation of paying top dollar at what looks like a top class hospital. Doc was first class..... although he did dhy away a little towards the end of the exam when i asked him to check out the right side of my helmet, which seems to be a darker colour than the left side. If i have secondry dose of some description, i will be devastated.

lesson to be learnt here? Dont use those tiny Thai sized condoms. I can remember struggling to put the bloody thing on and thought 'no way is this going to last'. The moment took me though and im sure that is the evening when i caught this bloody dose - when the condom snapped.

So thats me. Warts and all.

Thanks all for the feedback - really appreciated.

Im an average endowed guy. For some reason though, as soon as the nurse walked in, my old chap seemed to shrink to half its normal size - almost his way of retreating from the pending work to be carried out on him. That was part of the reason i bottled it plus, she was just so cute.... i prefer not to meet girls as lovely as that while they are scraping away at my disease ridden dick.

I would have been off the bed and asking for cream too!

I once read a report on another board by a Dutch guy I know who had his frozen off - they were down his jap's eye though

Your 'chap' shrinks when he spots a cute girl? :o

Seriously, congrats on getting them removed. I never had anything like it, but I was eating green cauliflower when I read this read, no joke. I'm not eating anymore, though ...thanks to that picture above.

the op should ,if possible , inform the young lady who infected him about this.

the virus that causes these warts has been shown to be a causative factor in cervical cancer.

the girl may not be aware of having warts , but if they are left untreated then she runs a high risk of contracting cancer in the future.

she should be treated , and i believe there is immunisation available too.

How's the OP Out Patient doing now? If still having any recurrences it might be worth a Google search on "amoils" and/or "Healing Natural Oils". Check out the customer testimonials.
