Can anyone give me help on configuring outlook express to work with my new tot adsl line. I suppose I need the correct smtp addresses, unfortunately, the technician that installed my modem took the pamphlet with him.

Thanks from Udon

Certainly helps. Perhaps look at who your email provider is and find the smtp addresses? Some good email providers like Gmail show this info on their web site help pages?

TOT does not support mail, as with a TOT E Mail address.

I assume you are going to use an E Mail service such as Hotmail or G Mail.

Hotmail is changing to Windows Live.

In the past, I have paid MSN US$19.95 for the privilege of sending my hotmail

to Outlook Express. They say that Outlook Express is being replaced by Windows Live.

Windows Live seems kind of "clunky" and for one reason or another, I rarely use it.

Hope this helps some.

smtp.totonline.net

as far as I know it's still the only open smtp server, since TOT blocked all smtp traffic.

The server works sometimes. It will accept your outgoing mail, actual delivery is simply not garanteed...

I use a TOT line to access my smtp.gmail.com all the time.

Live windows will configure alot of mail servers automatically I us it for UK BT and Hotmail the only problem I have is with AOL but that is normal with AOL. I did not have to reconfigure when I changed to TOT Broadband
