Where Can I Buy Shaving Products?

Hi all!

Two weeks ago i accidentally left my shaving gear in the bathroom of some hotel in Kuala Lumpur

Since i brought them over from Holland i don't have a clue where i can buy a new set here in LOS.

Need some quality products like a Merkur or Mühle DE knife so please no disposable DE Gillette's from Lotus.

I can order them in Holland but it will take at least a day or 10 before i will get them and by then i will look like Santa

FYI i tried a Gillette turbo set including foam but i have a sensitive skin and this really isn't working.

You're out of luck. You can sometimes find a DE razor in the odd local street market, a cheap but useable aluminum Chinese knock-off. If you find the razor, you can often find ASTRA blades, too, which are pretty good and about half the price of Gillettes commonly available. Some like DORCO DE blades, even cheaper, but I don't particularly--though they will work.

As for real shaving soap, you can't find it. You can make your own from a combo of a soap like English Lavender or Lux with a shot of rich shampoo. Best bet is the shaving cream sold by The Body Shop in larger Body Shop outlets such as at Central Chidlom. That is excellent, world-class cream and reasonably priced (in baht if you've earned your baht here); I bought 3 tubs already as supply in Thailand tends to be erratic. Otherwise you can get the Crabtree & Evelyn creams from a C&E shop (Emporium); but it's greatly overpriced here in Thailand, though it is also excellent.
