I have a Lexmark X1195 printer and always have problems with the cartridges apparently 'drying up'. I believe this is a common problem as I don't use my printer on a daily basis.

IT City have tried to help but always want to sell me new cartridges or new printer.

Is this model printer a waste of money (B1500 about) as new cartridges run about B1200.

Should I bin this printer and go for another brand or will the same problem occur with minimal use every week?

Any suggestions? :o

Don't know about that printer but two Epsons I had there was more time/money spent cleaning head/getting ink to flow than using them. Changed to a Canon IP4000 several years ago and no such problems with it.

I have a Lexmark Z645 and i have the same problem with the cartridges. The software shows that there is ink in both cartridges but i cant print anything either colour or black and white.

I am thinking of buying a new printer due to this issue.

Cheers, Rick
