I have 3 tickets booked with Emirates for later this month and I would like to change the return date.

So this morning I go to Emirates home page and enter my name and booking reference but get a sorry message they can not match my name or booking ref. So I start to wonder when we turn up at the airport will these tickets be valid (etickets)

Their home page does not give out any contact info for customer service nor can I find any phone numbers here.

The travel agent that I bought these tickets from was not very helpful in changing the return date that's why I am trying to do this myself

also AMADEUS with a 6 figure ref # appears in the Booking reference line, is this an online booking confirmation service and can I find my flight info there, and where is it.

Thanks

I assume that you haven't completed the outbound sector of your journey yet? If so, I tend to agree with Shrubbery - as you booked this ticket with an agent, the onus is really on you to make any changes through that agent.

You could always wait until you get to your destination then visit/contact the Emirates office there, depending on the rules of your fare & availability, you will be able to change your return date there and then.

I bought these tickets last December for departure early March but, I had to cancel the journey because of work.

I rebooked for early April but, again had to cancel due to illness, hence the travel agent was less than pleased when having rebooked the tickets a 3rd time for end April with return booked for end May I asked them to change the tickets again.

Yes I will get in touch with Emirates when I arrive in the UK and try to get an early return date.

Thanks Shrubbery and Clayton for the information

Try the Emirates ofice in Bangkok I have been there before when we missed our flight and they were brilliant and just put us on the next available flight. I ahve had dealings with Emirates at dom muang and had no problems but did have an altercation with them at Suvamapoom Airport the first time we flew out of it .

I would certainley try the Bangkok office though and just explain that the agent is not being helpfull.

Whilst am NOT a great fan of Royal Brunei, they do let you chnage departure date for free, fiest time.

I came to LOS for a month last July, decided to stay another month, no probs.

Most charge for any changes. I guess, the office time has to be paid for, all five minutes of it.

No Maestro you are absolutly correct this site is just for checking itineraries on flights booked via Amadeus as others have said the OP would need to go through the issuing office to make any changes to the ticket. Once the first leg of the journey has been travelled the booking gets passed

over to the airline who then you can contact to make amendments.

With e-tickets you can view your bookings live on line which is handy for checking any schedule changes to your itinerary, there are 4 main reservation systems and each one has it's own site:

https://www.viewtrip.com/ - Galileo

https://www.checkmytip.com/ - Amadeus

http://www.virtuallythere.com - Sabre

http://www.mytripandmore.com/ - Worldspan

You will need your PNR (passenger name record) number to gain access to your flight details.

Once your tickets have been issued you can use these sites to print off your e-tickets, incidently you can also use these sites to check if your tickets haven't been issued

as then it shouldn't cost you a penny to make changes, given availability is there.

"most charge for any changes"...

thats NOT correct. it ALWAYS depends on the booking class. the more expensive ur booking class, the more flexible u r in changing ur travelling itinerary for FREE.

that applies for ALL airlines.

as for Emirates, if u booked an expensive booking class (published rate, usually), they will of course change the date for free. best to call one of their offices.

I had to change my return flight back to Thailand recently, and the Emirates office in my home country was able to do that within a minute.

the next minute I checked my online-itinerary, and the changes already appeared.

apart from that, the Emirates B-777 are a nightmare. no cheapo-budget-airline would dare to offer such cramped conditions in ECO to its passengers.... 3-4-3 seating in a B-777 is a crime again mankind....

that applies for ALL airlines. It's worth noting that some airlines allow you to change their cheapest fares, whilst others don't. I believe it's possible (certainly was) to change all Emirates fares & compared to others, the fees are pretty reasonable. Similarly, their cheap fares will allow you a stopover, whereas other airlines wont.

I am flying budget airlines in Asia (and, to a certain degree, in Europe) approx. 50 times a year, so no need to teach my about that. None of the legrooms provided there was worse than at Emirates.

Apart from that, the Emirates performance was not bad, particularly as they give you 125% miles for ECO

if u book them on their own website and their flight redemption offers are great.....

but I wont do the B-777 with them again. it was my intercontinental flight number 20 or so within 5 years, and never had a more cramped eco-cabin..... cannot comment on the KLM 777, but if the do 3-4-3 as well, I will certainly avoid them.... but from what I know, they use B-747 on their Bangkok flights anyway, not B777. the B777 is much narrower than the Jumbo

Hi Terrydxn

I have resided between Dubai and Thailand for many years now and use Emirates (EK) regularly...................I presume you are starting your journey in Bangkok and if so you can ring 02 6641040 for any reservation enquiries and modifications, providing the ticket you have purchased permits such...........that means that you have to be careful because cheapie type purchases through agencies here for EK flights are extremely restricted by the airline to many normal changes one would expect.

Unfortunately this phone number operates on weekday office hours, Mon to Friday, closed on weekends. However you can normally call the airport EK desk 24 hrs on 021342917...........although the English conversation is not as good as contacting the weekday head office number......so have a Thai speaker familiar with your problem next to you when you call the airport.

I hope this helps..................... :o

Well, I'd have to disagree with you there, though I accept the seat width is poor. I used to try and book my flights on the A330, unfortunately both MAN>DXB flights are now operated by the 777.

Apart from that, the Emirates performance was not bad, particularly as they give you 125% miles for ECO

I'm flying to Cairo with them in June and that's far enough. By the way, BA use 3-4-3 in their 3 class 777's. I will certainly avoid them.... but from what I know, they use B-747 on their Bangkok flights anyway, they use the 747 Combi & if I were you I'd stay well clear. not B777. the B777 is much narrower than the Jumbo The difference is not as much as you might think - the interior cabin width of the 777 is 5.86m as opposed to 6.1m on the 747.

Hi

what agent did you buy from? might be mentioned here as a bad exsample!

the 2 agents where i buy from were always helpful all the years.

etc travel in khao san 026291885 and rama 4 near malaysia hotel, and also there J travel 022874421

usually no need to go there, pay by bank, receive e-ticket.

i always fly cheapest class and cheapest available tickets. here in TH it never cost me to change the schedule. in foreign country it cost a service charge with some airlines, never with Emirates, Sri Lankian, etc. only when i changed the return flight over the period of the ticket, for example a 3mth ticket, i had to pay the same difference i would have paid here in bkk when i bought the flight for a, lets say, 6 mth ticket, they told the difference in baht and calculated it in my currency, plus a service charge of 1000b.

i would not rely on change the return flight in another country. service might be poor. and because of short notice no seat available probably. i just tried to change my return flight with cebu pacific in the philippines... offices away from the capital were not able to tell me the costs and conditions, had to call the capital which was costly and a big effort. at the capital at their office there were 157 people in the queue ahead of me!!!

cheers
