(It's based on Neeraman's "What's the City") All you do is post a photo of a more or less famous artwork (painting, sculpture,...) not a portrait of your mother in law tending the sick buffalo Clues can be given or not. If no-one guess, you can post a photo of another artwork by the same artist. Here is the first one. Sorry this pic is a tad small but that the biggest I found on Goggle. I could really get into this thread if the picture was a bit bigger. Just for fun I will say :- Rupert Bunny (Australian 1864 - 1947) and the picture hangs in the National Gallery of Victoria

Otherwise I guess it's too difficult (any imput appreciated) A French painter born in 1780. This oil on canvas was painted in 1808 and it hangs in the Louvre.
