Taxi Direct Suvarnabhumi To Hua Hin

Featured Replies

I know taxis run straight to Pattaya regularly for 1,500 B or so, and that Hua Hin is about equidistant from the airport as Pattaya, so is it about the same cost to Hua Hin then ? Anybody with experience doing this ? And also, is it best to just grab a regular taxi or get a special 'service' one ? Or will that way be a ripoff and the regular taxi is the better route ?

//Edit: I change the name from Suvannaphum, which is a city in Isaan, to the Airport name Suvarnabhumi.

The "official" flat rate posted in Bangkok taxis for a run to Hua Hin is 1800 baht. The cab driver could ask for more; you could bargain for less.

The wife and I got our meter taxi from the airport to Hua Hin and paid 2000 Baht.

During the trip, my wife arranged with him to pick us up from our hotel and take us back to BKK, which he did for 1900 Baht.

We were more than happy with the guy.

What amazed me was that he was quite happy to drive down from BKK to Hua Hin empty to pick us up.

I'd be interested to know what the fuel cost would be for a round trip, and how much the guy would make.

and that Hua Hin is about equidistant from the airport as Pattaya.

I don't think Pattaya and Hua Hin is close to being equidistant from the new airport. My guess would be that Hua Hin is closer to being twice the distance (although not quite).
