I'll be staying at the Shagwell Mansion starting Jun 7. Does anyone know if Pattaya does a Full Moon Party, and if so where is it located and how far from Shagwell Mansion is it. Thanks

Full moon partys are now held together with the local and nationalwide Elections.

I think they died a peacefull dead in Pattaya. But you are free to sit outside a 7/11 drink a beer and look at the full moon.

so no more group parties....no more beach parties till early in the morning. WOW. As far as getting a beer from 7/11 and sitting outside watching the moon....I think I'll do just that....NOT!!!!!

Let me know what the shagwell's like. The name sounds good!

It's a good place. Has a bar called Darcy's which is open at 8am for breakfast. Oriented to showing sports on the TV and a place to hang out shooting the breeze while watching the passing parade.

Also there is the Outback bar which has become the de facto Thai Visa Friday night watering hole. Great venue.

From a source not to be named:-

"We, the department, have taken out a world wide patent on parties, particularly Moon parties, Sun parties and planet parties in general. Any such parties can only be organised and held with the express written permission of the

aforementioned patent holders.

Failure to - buy - (delete buy and substitute "be granted") - said permission will result in severe penalties.

You have been warned.

All applications can be submitted to the "porkys' cooking show, fun for all the poor. Unless it's been banned in which case see your local constabulary."

About a year ago they were advertising Full Moon partiy I think to be held out on one of the islands,it was to be patronized by various bars, I didn't go so can't tell you anymore it may have died out due to lack of customers, If it's anything like the Full Moon parties on Koh Phan Gan (spelling) it would involve very loud Techno Music which I don't like. :o

Full Moon Parties give the locals a bad impression of foreigners. It makes them think that we want to get drunk, stoned, throw trash all over the place, lose our inhibitions, act rudely to the locals, etc. Mass parties like this should be banned in my opinion.

Stay home and get drunk/stoned and make a fool of yourself there, please.

They ran a couple last year on Koh Larn. They were set up as private business initiatives which lost alot of money over the 2 parties (fortunately I declined the offer of investing). They were quite popular but had nowhere near the numbers required to be profitable because

a. They were charging too much for tickets, and

b. They were crap.

Sounds alright, might have too see you all there for a beer. I will be there after the Grand Final which the Cats are sure to win, so that'll give me some bragging rights Crow Boy! How central is it too the beach & entertainment venues?

Spend a couple bucks & go down south to Koh Phangan. If Raving is your scene- I heard its a gas . Watch out for the mushroom omelets or mushroom drinks - sometimes the locals substitute the good stuff with nightshade. It knocks you out & leaves you open for waking up bereft all your belongings.

I believe this is where you are looking for when you are asking for "The full moon party"

I did hear it is a blast. I am a young 52 & would still dig on the scene!

If your not into the younger set(or act like you can still party like a rock star) I would maybe give it a miss.
