When I moved to Thailand I tried a couple of the different brands of milk here, but did not care for the taste of any. They did'nt taste bad, but very different from what I am used to. I thought to myself that I don't need milk, and can rather switch to orange-juice, but now i've got a powerful craving for cereal. Do ALL thai milk taste different from scandinavian milk, or are there a brand thats similar?

And another thing, does anyone know if they sell captain crunch in Thailand?

I have no idea about scandinavian milk but the best that I found that was about the same as what I would call "normal milk" is MEIJI Blue Top.

Never seen captain crunch before so can't help you on that part :-)

The Captain Crunch will completely change the taste of milk. You don't need to worry about what kind you use. I even use Soy milk with no problem. :o

As discussed before in another milk thread - I like the 'Alli' brand when I visit Jomtiem - but otherwise most of the dark blue topped milk is fine.

Try cereal with orange juice (non-sweetened).

Cuban: Orange Juice with cereal? I hope you are kidding...
With muesli it is perfectly fine try it, with cornflakes it is probably a bit odd. Edited by Cuban

Hehehehe, nice one Dave. The dark blue topped milk was ok, so I think I will be sticking to that. But Cuban, I must admit I find the orange juice and cereal a bit odd, so I think I'll take a rain check on that one, but thanks for the tip!

you could try the "ka-thie" milk from the coconut. If pressed fresh, it does not has a coconut smell. Good in coffee too! I use it for all my milk replacement. (probably healthier too...)

The CP Meiji blue top is normally very good, the best for Lattes, but in the last week has had a bit of an off taste - either 'off', or the cows have gotten into the onion weed again -

I'll drink just about any milk including the UHT carton stuff, but usually buy the blue top, occasionally the Foremost. My girlfriend likes the Chitralada (King's royal project) milk which is possibly creamier/richer than the others - may be to your taste.

CP Meiji dark blue top is probably available in every 7/11 in Thailand and is the best of the commonly availabel brands, IMHO. However, same as guava's girlfriend, I'll buy the Chitralada milk if it's available as I think it has the best taste of them all. But it's not available everywhere.

I thought that it was just me that thought that, but I think your right. Sometimes even the fresh bottles can have a really strange taste that lasts for a few days and then goes back to normal.

I think that strange off taste is the calcium they have added recently. It's terrible!!! I don't know what to do because I love milk and used to love Meiji 0% fat until now. :o
