Has anyone obtained a spouse visa onshore (in Australia) while the applicant holds a 676 visa and is legally married?

If so what is the criteria?

If this is available it would make it an alternative to applying offshore.

It would be interesting to hear of any successful applications.

It would seem the logical way to go and a lot easier as you will be dealing with Australian DIAC staff, who I think you will find are better than the local staff in Bangkok who are not Australian citizens and who are supervised by Australian public servants do not "think" in the same way as an Australian, "culture" difference is the reason.IMHO Thai applicants should be dealt with by Thai staff and the Australian sponsor by an Australian staff member of DIAC.
