Visa To Usa From The Uk

Featured Replies

Hello all,

We've been invited to a wedding in the US in September this year. Can anyone tell me how difficult/easy it is to get a visit Visa for my wife and has anyone had any recent experience of applying for a US Visa for a Thai national from the UK ?

My wife has lived in the UK for about 3 years now and is here on a settlement visa (just had a 2 year FLR).

Many thanks

Simon

Since you and your wife are indeed resident in the UK I don't think that you'll have any difficulty in obtaining a U.S. visa for her.  The main think the ConOff at the embassy will be interested in is her ties to you and the UK.  So, just take along stacks of paperwork in case they ask for such.

It might be a different scenario if you were just touristing the UK from Bangkok and you were a U.S. citizen, especially so if she'd been turned down in Bangkok for a visa.  Not so in your case.
