My wife has been to regent house today to apply for her daughters visa. After they had glanced through the application they asked my wife why we had not included our marraige certificate and also my decree absolute for my previous marraige. Are they right to ask for this information? surely the fact my wife has her settlement visa proves we have married and the embassy has already seen this information.

What do you think?

Worried now.

I wouldn't worry about that, Steve. The staff at Regent House are only the clerks who take in the papers. They are not trained in UK immigration law and policy and what they think is largely irrelevant. The main thing is that they took in the application for onward transmission to the embassy. Your wife's settlement visa will describe her as being your spouse and actually name you. The embassy is hardly likely to question your marriage when the same office saw fit to issue the visa in the first place.

Scouse.
