ME, my wife and kids took a holiday back to Australia for a few weeks I forgot to pay our car payment while we were away (Two weeks late). The car repo man turned up and started to harass my mother in law about the late payment and demanded 5500 baht or he was taking the car. She payed the 5500 on the door to the repo man but when I found out I rang the company, they said they had sent somone out but never recived any payment. I told them that a payment had been made to the repo man, the sum of 5500 baht but the company has taken their employees side of the story and has no intention of investigating the matter. I have now payed the overdue amount but has anyone heard of such a checky scam.

It happened to a friend of mine on a House loan payment.

He made it to the bank employee visiting his home and got a receipt written on a name card.

The employee resigned and walked away with the money......

And this was not Thailand but....Japan

So sure it must happen all over

never part with cash unless you get an official receipt anywhere

why did your mother in law not get a reciept. Thais nearly always do that if they are handing money over. :o

maybe your mother in law is scamming you, saying she had to pay that so you will reimburse her. :D

You should find out what really happened first. Tie her up to a kitchen chair, if there is such a thing here, and waterboard her thoroughly.

Call the company and find out the name of the agent that visited your house. Then file a police complaint against him just to get it on record.

Ahhh, it is no longer legal for an American to waterboard a detainee. The rules have been changed recently.

There are other methods that work just as well though. :D

Well they don't admit their wrongdoing anyway - just expect everybody else to think it's ok :o
