Brunie

Featured Replies

Hi,

Would like to know if anyone has had a stopover in Brunie.

I am coming to Thailand in September but have a 17 hour stopover in Brunie.

Just was wondering is there a night life of any kind. Or if there is anything worth seeing while I am ther.

Thanks

M.

It's Brunei... I believe it's alcohol free.

Rather you than me for a 17 hour stopover. It's bad enough just having 2 hours at the airport, let alone 17.

There are no bars in the airport. There are a couple of food outlets that are pretty poor. No Mac'Ds, KFC etc.

There is no nightlife as such in Brunei. There are however a few hidden places where you can get a few beers. They will cost you $5.00 BND/SGD each. But you will need to ask around.

RBA do stopover tours. If you are desperate for a beer, they may take you to the bars just over the Brunei Malaysia border. Around 30 mins drive from the airport. But be advised that immigration there closes at 10pm.

If you PM me, I can let you know where there are a couple of places to get a beer.

Brunei is a dry country, but non muslims are permitted to bring in 12 cans (330ml) of beer and 2 bottles of wine or spirits.

If you do bring in alcohol, you will have to fill in a customs declaration form.
