On the uk visitor visa application form, question 6.10.17 states this:

6.10.17 - If someone other than yourself is paying for all or any part of this visit, how much money will they give you? Please provide full and current, independent and verifiable documentary evidence to support this. Please state currency e.g. US Dollars or UK Pounds Sterling.

I spoke to somebody who made an application with his then gf, now wife, for a tourist visa. He said that you just have to state that the sponsor will foot all the costs of the trip and of course provide evidence of the means to do so.

I was going to tell my girlfriend to write something like, 'The total cost of this trip, including return flights, food, accommodation, entertainment, and any other incurred expenses, will be paid for by my sponsor'.

Question is, will this suffice.

Anybody out there who can shed any light on this for me, then that would be a big help.

Cheers

I can tell you what the Immigration Rules say, and you can then make up your own mind:-

The requirements to be met by a person seeking leave to enter the United Kingdom as a visitor are that he:

(i) is genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period as stated by him, not exceeding 6 months; and

(ii) intends to leave the United Kingdom at the end of the period of the visit as stated by him; and

(iii) does not intend to take employment in the United Kingdom; and

(iv) does not intend to produce goods or provide services within the United Kingdom, including the selling of goods or services direct to members of the public; and

(v) does not intend to undertake a course of study; and

(vi) will maintain and accommodate himself and any dependants adequately out of resources available to him without recourse to public funds or taking employment; or will, with any dependants, be maintained and accommodated adequately by relatives or friends; and

(vii) can meet the cost of the return or onward journey.; and

(viii) is not a child under the age of 18.

Just make sure you put something in that box, when I applied with my GF before and left the box empty, as I didn't believe there was any need to answer as we had said I would be fitting all the costs, the guy in the UK VAC spotted it was empty and made her put something in there!

On both my now wifes ( then GF) visitor visas I put see my sponser is meating all costs please see attached letter . I then typed a short letter saying I was covering all costs of travel etc and would cover the costs any unforseen costs.I then also sent all the originals of my bank statements for an 2 year period including a statement which was in credit to the tune of £5000.

The best advice I can give you is if in doubt include everything in the folder, our folder was so thick that it didnt fit under the counter and they had to take all the paperwork out of the binder. Make sure the folder of evidence is well presented and that all the details supplied are backed up by original documentation.I think if you supply them with loads of info and they see that you have spent alot of time and care it helps the application as they know that you are serious about your relationship.

Good luck.
