Catholics are Christians.

A neighbor of mine attends a protestant church (somewhere around Choeng Mon I believe).

Samui church marks first year

Submitted by editor on Mon, 2008/03/24 - 6:13am. ::

By R. GREER

ON Sunday, March 2, both Thai and foreign Christians celebrated the first anniversary of the establishment of the Philadelphia Church on Samui with a gathering of members of five separate Koh Samui churches.

The Philadelphia Church is an association of autonomous fellowships theologically united in delivering the Good News of Salvation.

David Roberts, a preacher from the US who is credited with a church of worship in Bangrak, said, "While it is still months away from completion, the fact that the church is even being erected in the first place is a gift from God."

At least 60 people showed up for the day-long services held in English and Thai, which included lunch and a fellowship.

"Today, a special service was held to celebrate the birthday of this beautiful church. Once construction is finished, we will have a permanent place for worship," Roberts said. Samui Mercy Baptist Church pastor Anatcha delivered a sermon, which dwelt on the last days of Jesus Christ on Earth.

"It is going to be a beautiful church once completed later this year. But it is the people who will make the church what it is. This building will unite all Christians on Koh Samui," Samui Mercy Baptist Church member Tim Knight said. "I hope that the word spreads to every person on this island about this church."

Those interested to attend services at any of the Christian churches on Koh Samui may call 084-6899680.

Nice one sbk. It's not an opportunity for someone to lecture or to slag off someone else's beliefs.

Just for your information everybody who is looking for a catholic church in Samui providing an English mass .... There is a catholic church on Chaweng ring road (road number 4169). Coming from Lamai you pass Bangkok Samui Hospital , Castrol petrol station, and between Beauty Smile Dental Clinic and Police box (before traffic lights) look for a white sign with black writing "Catholic Church". It will be on your left. There is a small road and a car park for motorbikes and also cars. The priest (Father Simon) comes from Surat Thani to celebrate a mass every Sunday at 10.30am.

Godding stuff ?? :huh::D

Anyway, the OP has confused me big time as Catholic Churches are Christian Churches, how strange that someone who wannts to go to one would say such a thing & insinuate that they are different..:ermm:

The OP was asking on behalf of somebody else but afaik the people visiting these churches see a big difference between a Catholic and a Christian church. I have no problem respecting that.
