Here are the details (AFAIK):

- She is Belgian, under 50 years, no children, living in Phuket

- She was married to another Belgian who was offered a job here in Thailand last year

- His non-imm B visa was issued because he had a WP for his new job in Thailand

- Her non-imm O visa was issued on the basis of being married to him - she was/is not working in Thailand

- Now they have divorced...

- Now his job is finishing at the end of this month. His WP will be revoked and he will have to get a new visa/leave Thailand etc

- As a result of her ex-husband's job being terminated, her visa will also terminate when his job ends (is that correct?)

So, how can she get a new visa to remain in Thailand? I suggested an ED visa if she could find a language school in Phuket that offers a longterm course.

Any suggestions and advice? Sorry if I have not provided exact facts, but I can ask her for any clarifications if required.

Looks like Tourist Visas for her.

Go to Vientienne Laos and get a double entry Tourist Visa. With extensions this will give her almost 6 months. Time to work out her next move.

Not sure if her extension based on her EX is finished now or not. As they are divorced I would assume it must be.

Anyone?

At the very least when her current stay finishes she will need another option.

I agree with Lite Beer that her extension might very well be already been terminated, as she is divorced. She no longer meets the reason under which she was granted the extension, just like in the case some loses his work.

There are not many options for her to stay. Next to tourist visa's there are:

1. work

2. education

3. volunteer work for registered charity

Theres 2 schools offering her ED visas in Patong now..

Or she could fly to the UK and get a non imm O for visiting friends and family.. Or get a non imm B for 'investigating investment opportunities' or a 1 year ED for almost any course of study (including stuff like scuba, studying Buddhism, language)..

Very easy to obtain them is she picks and chooses her consuls.
