I'm wondering if banks in Thailand charge prepayment fees if a mortgage is paid early.

on one of my mortgages, HSBC Bangkok charged a pre-payment penalty (applicable to the first 3 yrs only).....after that there was no penalty or fees in paying off any part (or the whole) of the loan...

Check with the bank.

i use UOB, and same deal as trajan. no penalty unless less than 3 years.

the question is: what is the penalty compared to what you would save in interest payments...
