Just thinking about how you could describe some of the everyday experiences to be found here.

Sitting in a bar on Sukhumvit road staring at the parked traffic, a very pretty girl is bringing you a guiness, yes an Irish bar in the far east.....every time someone comes in the door, you feel a hot draught as the outside air trys to overcome the aircon....oi shut the door your warming the place up. As you look outside a couple of grinning locals are trying to wring some baht out of you to feed the elephant that is looking back through the window at you......the girl you are with complains that the sii dam beer tastes of coffee and why didnt you warn her....

It is strange to try to relate, but its also what its all about for me :o

Being late for work after getting caught behind a slow moving Elephant.

That would be quite surreal to the folks back home but is the norm now for me.

Booked on a Lauder air flight, arrived at the airport with a bad feeling, got to checkin and decided not to go.

The plane crashed in Supanburi shortly after takeoff killing all, just not my time, I guess.

Regards. :o

No BS I felt bad for weeks after, and now have a real fear of flying.

This is from Viet Nam but similar experiences abound in Thailand.

Having a sofa (settee), two arm chairs and two footstools (pouffes?) delivered to your house on a single bicycle.

Later the upright freezer and colour TV arrives balanced on the pillion seat of a motorbike (not strapped on, just held in balance by the rider).

Something like 50 ducks being taken to market on a motorbike. Hung by their feet either side of the pillion seat and off the handlebars.
