FM505
Just finished a phone conversation with a friend who arrived to Bkk at Suv. airport this past weekend. He had a single entry 90 day visa which had previously been used. There was some concern that he might not be allowed to enter Thailand... but likely could for 30 days with his US passport. (He has been here for a couple of years and has been issued one year multiple entry visa in the past). He was issued a 90 day visa at the immigration entry point... does this seem unusual? I have only been aware of 30 day visas being issued for this kind of entry? Any thoughts or comments? Cheers.
lopburi3
Most likely the wrong stamp was used and he will be overstay after 30 days if that is the case. Only 30 days is allowed on a US passport without a visa. Immigration can correct the stamp.

And, suggest that the friend do so, get the correction that is as he's responsible for checking the accuracy of the "permitted to stay" stamp in his passport even tho Immigration screwed up. BTW, the overstay will be 60 days if he elects to follow the stamp date, baht 20,000 out the window if they happen to notice it on departure. Just ain't worth the chance.
