I have been reading about the new gov benefit program. Free bus rides, train rides, electric etc.

One group of people argue that it only benefits the middle class and one side says it benefits the poor. I was wondering what people thought the income classes were in thailand.

Upper Upper Class

Middle Upper Class

Lower Upper Class

Upper Middle Class

Middle Middle Class

lower Middle Class

Upper Lower Class

Middle Lower Class

Lower Lower Class

I guess LLC would be poverty level of less than 1500 baht per month or there abouts. For the middle class to be benefiting from free electricity they would not be able to have an aircon would they ?? If you are using Samui wages or similar then please say so. I asked when i was there and a common worker in a fast food place gets 10,000 a month so that would skew the levels quite a bit.

You completely forgot the Farang "bottomless ATM owner" class.

If it is truly bottomless then it be in the UUC.

Then there is poor old marshbags at the very lowest of poor farang.

Heard by my wife several times.......the truth.

There goes that poor farang,

Cannot even afford a 10 baht taxi as the comment goes when they see me out walking / exercising every day :D

On a more serious note the poor really are up against it, so come on all you rich persons, observe them in passing and give them a few baht for a feed please.

20 baht will fill their empty stomachs ( a larger sum if you can afford it. ) but more twenties will fill several stomachs

marshbags :o

It,s easy to see who the genuine and silent, humble needy are ( not the drunks and similar )
