sbk Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 It appears to be a forum glitch regarding threads that have been split or merged. George is aware of the problem and is working on fixing the issue.
G54 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 It has gone to the top of the forum and says that britmaverick has posted, but I still get a blank. Doesn't that happen to everyone after britmaveric posts (draw a blank) ? BMO ??
Boater Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 another bad thread http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Patong-Motor...rt-t213008.html
Pierrot Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I can't access the thread Thaksin's Brother In Law Voted As New Prime Minister for the past 20 mn
Plus Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 I think the problem is with Apache's mod_rewrite module that translates urls like "thaivisa.com/i-have-no-clue-what-is-happening.html" into normal "thaivisa.com/showtopic.php?thread=89789&start=100". Somewhere during translation of the topic name some parameters get lost. This has to be fixed on the server by maintance people, not by the mods or even Thaivisa admin.
sgtpeppers Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 to get around this problem, go to the second last page of the thread and the URL should end with something like &start=100 or &st=100 . now add one to that number (101 in this case) and resubmit the url it will reload the last page

sriracha john Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 and now... just minutes later.... SHAZAM!!!!!!! It's working! amazing... Perhaps there is a key to unlocking the other threads, that still have the same problem, in what has just happened .
Tywais Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Perhaps there is a key to unlocking the other threads, that still have the same problem, in what has just happened . The forum appeared to be down for a few minutes just now. Perhaps some corrective actions have been taken.
ovenman Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Here's yet another broken thread to add to the pile: Is Pattaya Dead Right Now? Post 251 seems to be the errant post.

Here's yet another broken thread to add to the pile: Is Pattaya Dead Right Now?Post 251 seems to be the errant post. yep, the " Blank sheet of 'Done' " syndrome strikes again.... geez... 251 posts... 12,000 views... a tourism-related thread like this thread's OP.... ALSO... Ulysses G was OP for the most recent bad thread and was OP of this 'bad thread' thread.... any connection on either aspect? Edited November 19, 2008 by sriracha john
ovenman Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 A new thread that has seemingly gone "bad": Expats ID Cards
ovenman Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Add another thread to the bad pile: The Redcoats Have Taken Over Downtown Chiang Mai Is this problem ever going to get addressed or at least an explanation offered as to why these threads cannot be fixed?
sriracha john Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) Add another thread to the bad pile: The Redcoats Have Taken Over Downtown Chiang MaiIs this problem ever going to get addressed or at least an explanation offered as to why these threads cannot be fixed? from earlier bad thread reports in this thread... a tourism-related thread like this thread's OP.... ALSO... Ulysses G was OP for the most recent bad thread and was OP of this 'bad thread' thread.... any connection on either aspect? I see... uhmmm... yet again, that regarding the one reported today... that Ulysses G was OP of that one, as well. What's going on??? :D Edited April 10, 2009 by sriracha john
sbk Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 given the chaos on the forum over the past few days I am not sure george has actually had a chance to investigate.
ovenman Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 (edited) Noted, thanks. For what it's worth, some things I noticed about the last two threads that went "bad" was that unlike the earlier ones with problems, the recent threads were not hot threads, not heavily moderated threads, not the product of merging threads together. So those things would seem to be out as reasons underlying the problem. Edited April 17, 2009 by ovenman

ovenman Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Add another bad thread to the pile: Police Volunteers Again!
sriracha john Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) * * ANOTHER BAD THREAD * * joins the ever-increasing list.... http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...p;#entry2251895 http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=160471 Ambulance Workers Shooting And Assaulting Each Other turf war heats up was working fine this morning until within the past hour, the "white screen of death" is all that comes up.... the repeating "Blank sheet of 'Done' " has struck again.... This thread: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Police-Volunteers-t256490.html Police Volunteers Again ! THIS MUST BE SORTED OUT - NOW!! is visible for the first page, but any attempt to reply to it gets the same "Blank Sheet of Done" as above. ....but at least Ulysses G didn't start it, so that connection seems less sure than before. The general topic of volunteerism is, however, the same as the above example. Edited April 18, 2009 by sriracha john
ovenman Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Any news to report regarding this sporadic board problem?
ovenman Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Another one for the pile: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Doubts-Faran...in-t286185.html
sriracha john Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Another one for the pile: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Doubts-Faran...in-t286185.html That one's a curious First... the first "Blank Screen of Done" dead thread that got no further than just the OP...
mc2 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 there is a workaround for all these topics, for example, in the "Drop-tourism-6 months thread" page 3 loads and page 4 does not URL for page 3 is http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Drop-Tourism....html&st=50 just add 1 to the end to load the blank page, eg http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Drop-Tourism....html&st=51
ovenman Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Another popular thread bites the dust: Results Of Oct. 2009 Chiang Mai Mayoral Election
Tywais Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Another popular thread bites the dust: I managed to repair it but it was non trivial and used mod techniques probably never used in this combination. The topic is up again but your link won't work now due to a change of indexing.

ovenman Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 This time it's a one-post thread gone bad: New Mayor Elect.
Tywais Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 This time it's a one-post thread gone bad: New Mayor Elect. My mod toolkit can't fix that one, not even to delete it and have it re-posted. Need admin/webmaster input as to why this is happening.
