It appears to be a forum glitch regarding threads that have been split or merged. George is aware of the problem and is working on fixing the issue.

It has gone to the top of the forum and says that britmaverick has posted, but I still get a blank.

Doesn't that happen to everyone after britmaveric posts (draw a blank) ? :o

BMO ?? :D

I think the problem is with Apache's mod_rewrite module that translates urls like "thaivisa.com/i-have-no-clue-what-is-happening.html" into normal "thaivisa.com/showtopic.php?thread=89789&start=100".

Somewhere during translation of the topic name some parameters get lost.

This has to be fixed on the server by maintance people, not by the mods or even Thaivisa admin.

to get around this problem, go to the second last page of the thread and the URL should end with something like &start=100 or &st=100 .

now add one to that number (101 in this case) and resubmit the url

it will reload the last page

Perhaps there is a key to unlocking the other threads, that still have the same problem, in what has just happened .

The forum appeared to be down for a few minutes just now. Perhaps some corrective actions have been taken.

Here's yet another broken thread to add to the pile: Is Pattaya Dead Right Now?

Post 251 seems to be the errant post.

yep, the " Blank sheet of 'Done' " syndrome strikes again.... geez... 251 posts... 12,000 views... :D

a tourism-related thread like this thread's OP.... ALSO... Ulysses G was OP for the most recent bad thread and was OP of this 'bad thread' thread....

any connection on either aspect? :o

Add another thread to the bad pile: The Redcoats Have Taken Over Downtown Chiang Mai

Is this problem ever going to get addressed or at least an explanation offered as to why these threads cannot be fixed?

from earlier bad thread reports in this thread...

I see... uhmmm... yet again, that regarding the one reported today... that Ulysses G was OP of that one, as well.

What's going on??? :D :D

given the chaos on the forum over the past few days I am not sure george has actually had a chance to investigate.

Noted, thanks. For what it's worth, some things I noticed about the last two threads that went "bad" was that unlike the earlier ones with problems, the recent threads were not hot threads, not heavily moderated threads, not the product of merging threads together. So those things would seem to be out as reasons underlying the problem.

thanks for the insight, I'll be sure to pass it on to g and the webmaster.

This thread:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Police-Volunteers-t256490.html

Police Volunteers Again ! THIS MUST BE SORTED OUT - NOW!!

is visible for the first page, but any attempt to reply to it gets the same "Blank Sheet of Done" as above.

....but at least Ulysses G didn't start it, so that connection seems less sure than before. The general topic of volunteerism is, however, the same as the above example.

Another popular thread bites the dust:

I managed to repair it but it was non trivial and used mod techniques probably never used in this combination. The topic is up again but your link won't work now due to a change of indexing.

Any idea what causes threads to "go bad" in this manner?
