Overstay Payment

Featured Replies

One of the Farang boys up here (Korat) has overstayed on a 30 day entrance to Thailand by about 2 weeks. He is married to a Thai and I think I understand he can go to immigration to get an additional 30 days (payment of 1900 Baht). But because of his overstay I'm not sure if this presents a problem. Can he pay the overstay at the immigration office in Korat and get his extension?

The extension is 60 days and is a special provision. With the overstay it will be up to Immigration if they provide or not (as he currently does not have a valid permitted to stay to extend). He will almost surly have to pay overstay and he should be prepared to leave the country immediately if required.

Update. Guys wife called Korat immigration this morning and they said that they would take care of it for him. Obviosly they said he would have to pay the overstay and then 1900 Baht for 60 day extension. They are on their way now.

Thank you Ken & loppburi3.

I'm the/was the boy with the problem.

Imigration very freindly, just paid for overstay & 1900 bath for extention.

Please too all you out there on the entrence to the visa section it says more or less

"You should not wear shorts, slippers or teeshirts with no sleeves"

Please, we should all respect this.

See you all.
