Siam Legal - Pr

Recommended Posts

Siam Legal are currently advertising for PR applications. Amongst the advantages of obtaining PR they state, "Having your name listed on property ownership papers". I already have PR, but as far as I am aware it doesn't change property ownership laws (except that the money used to buy a condo doesn't need to be transferred from overseas). I am probably going to transfer the house from Company to Wife with Usufruct soon and so I'm particularly interested in this statement. Anyone know what "Having your name listed on property ownership papers" actually means in reality?

Most probably they mean having your name listed on the standard blue house book (Tabien Bahn).

People not having residency have to specially apply for a yellow house book to be able to include their name.

Land ownership is in no way affected when holding residency. You'll have to go one step further and get Thai citizenship to get the privilege of owning land!
