Police beef up security at Hat Yai airport

Hat Yai, Songkhla: -- Police beefed up security at the Hat Yai International Airport here following speculation that supporters of the People's Alliance for Democracy would stage a blockade to the airport.

About 100 policemen were deployed to keep security at the airport and some PAD supporters have arrived.

Hat Yai airport closed

SONGKHLA: -- The Hat Yai International Airport was closed Tuesday afternoon following protests by supporters of the People's Alliance for Democracy.

Airport officials confirmed that the services of the airport were suspended indefinitely since 1 pm.

All flights betwene Bangkok and Hat Yai were cancelled.
