I was hopeing to make a three day weekend out of it, however, the wife has bugged out for some reason or other, looks like I'll be coming up solo, which means a 750km drive on sat, no problem, and a 750km drive back on sunday - not 2 sure about that one! :o

We do have an airport up here btw :D

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we lost 2 "greeters" to check in members for the party next Saturday.

We need 2 local members to meet and greet attendees upon arrival....any volunteers?

Please pm me.....thanks.

Sorry Bucky, I am one of the "greeters" who cannot make it next Saturday. As you can see by the attached image, I am a real dump of a location at the moment and need to find this little fishy's older brother next weekend.

Many thanks to Thai Visa, George, Buckwheat and all the others who are putting the party together. Hope the night is a great success, I am sure it will be. Enjoy.

I thought that fish looked a bit small....then I realised YOU were holding it BB :o

You wil be missed at the party mate

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that the party is happening at the same time as the huge 5000-balloon Loi Kratong celebration in Mae Jo. I suppose it would be possible to attend both, but a shame that two of the coolest things to do in a while are happening simultaneously.

Having said that, they don't let off the balloons until 9pm or later, so it would be possible to attend the BBQ, then go out to Mae Jo and come back. Only it'll be hard to make the trek once the boozing and ribbing have commenced.

I was thinking the same but have done Loy Krathong every year for the last 7/8 years so ain't bothered missing it this once. Watching the little ankle-bighters nicking the baht out of your boat seconds after launching is somewhat disheartening. :o ... mind you, that was in PFuket!

I'm sure MB will have some lanterns set aside that we can rocket off from the decking :D

yeah, that stuff is boring. once is enough. but that's not happening on saturday - i believe that's a few days later. what's happening on saturday is the massive release of thousands of loi kham (paper balloons) from a site in mae jo. it's one of the most incredible things you'll ever see. i went last year for the first time and was chagrined that i had missed the years prior.

still, good ribs are good ribs. bummed that i can't have a full night of both.

You needing short or long time?

I have my tickets booked and will be there for the bbq - looking forward to it

:D

CB

Good topic for discussion at the bbq. :o

Soundman, assuming the little one in your avatar is your child and the big one is you, it would appear that s/he just dropped a rather smelly bubble that got up your nose. Correct?
