Take a air-con coach from from Goldenmile Complex at Beach Road..I think it takes about 15 hours....

i've called several travel agents all told me no direct flight have to transit in bkk, total time from singapore to hatyai ard 15-16 hrs including waiting time at airport

Air asia fly from BKK international airport, they have 4-5 flight to Hatyai. I think your total time should be 6-7 hours. (including waiting time )

Don't they have the shared taxis that they used to have. You could take one from Singapore to Butterworth and then another to Hatyai or check out the trains through Malaysia. If money is an issue I think you pay the same number of dollars as Ringitts so better to buy after JB.

Try the train from S'pore to Butterworth [Penang], then by taxi to Hat Yai. S'pore travel agent should be able to advise!

Fly direct Tiger airways Singapore to Krabi thereafter take hourly run shuttle van service Krabi to Hatyai.
