I concur with the above.

If he arives that late, I suggest he stays at Swampy till mpring.

Some soft seats to curl up on !st level.

If hungry, go to ground level, near gate 8 there is, "The Magic Point Cafe", open all hours, a great feed may be had for 100 baht or there abouts.

I do that every trip, as my flite out is 0700.

To save money, get Airport Express Bus to Hua Lam Pong.

The latter is where Bangkok's main train station is situated.

The price for a ticket is 150 Baht.

There may be a day service to Chaing Mai that will suit you.

Other than that, check ya bags in and go enjoy Chinatown, nearby and other sites.

Good luck.

I think there is a 8.30 am train up here, to chiang mai from bkk, the only problem is that its not a sleeper, so its 13 hours on a seat. So another other option which a friend of mine did is to get the night sleeper but while ya waiting just get in a cheap guest house near the train station in bkk. relax etc and then about 4pm have a walk round and get some food, then get the train around 6pm
