I'm planning a trip to Chiang Mai when my father comes in early October and I want to be sure and make it back for the end of the vegetarian festival in Phuket. I've seen a couple different dates for the vegetarian festival, some say it ends the 6th and others the 7th. What I really want to know is when the large night parade will happen. I think it is the night of the 6th, can anyone confirm this? Also any suggestions on where the best place to watch it from is?

Best views would be the clock tower roundabout (Metropole Hotel) or the water cannon roundabout (local bus station), or anywhere in between the two.
