Experienced Teachers Looking For Jobs In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hello,

We are two teachers from the U.S.A. living in eastern Thailand seeking to relocate to Chiang Mai. We are looking for work from November through March or possibly later.

We speak minimal Thai but are committed to learning. We are both certified teachers with master’s degrees in education and years of teaching experience ranging from elementary school to college. We may also be interested in non-teaching jobs as well.

Thank You.

I just heard today that a two teachers (a married couple) at Chiang Mai International School will be leaving at the end of this next term. You may want to contact that school for openings.

Hello,

Native speakers, experience teaching in Thailand, Master degrees in Education... You won't have any problems finding good positions in any International or "Thai" School in Chiang Mai.

Check the www.ajarn.com website, some positions might be available now, as the end of the term is near, many schools are looking for new teachers.

Good luck and :o

Not sure about the timing. International schools start the year in August. But CMIS would be a great place.

PeaceBlondie is quite right - your timing doesn't fit with international school calendars, especially since you don't want to complete the academic year.

I have, however, also heard that a couple of CMIS teachers are breaking contract and leaving soon. Get in touch with them as they may be desperate enough to take you, even if you don't want to stay until mid-June - the end of the international school year. In general international school contracts run from mid-August to mid-June, with a 2 year initial contract. Good luck.

About the timing, you're right guys :o . Actually the timing is good for local schools (private & government). As you can imagine, salaries are note the same though.

That is an understatement. Not only are the salaries about half as much, but the working conditions, even in most of the better Thai schools here, are so deplorable that they might drive two experienced, Western-trained educators mad. Good luck, folks.

Totally agree :o

Thank you for the tips! I should have mentioned we are more interested in working in a public school. We have fine jobs here in public schools. Chiang Mai sounds like such an amazing place to live and wanted to see what was out there. We'd love to hear your thoughts on life in Chiang Mai. Thanks again.
