True enough, but there seems to be a trend on Thai social media where people are trying to out do one another looking for examples of foreigners causing problems. Two examples come to mind: the guy in Phuket (? ) who posted a video accusing two Russian (?) women of kidnapping his cat, and the tuk tuk driver in Phuket who posted a video of an Israeli (?) guy panhandling with a kid in tow. Plus a pretty steady stream of videos of fights and altercations. It is understandable how news media outlets, including the English press, harvest these stories from social media, but in the current climate where the current government is cutting back on 60 day visas, promoting zero tolerance policies on misbehavior, encouraging citizens to report any people who might be violating visa rules, and making banking access more restrictive, the propaganda value of encouraging the press to highlight negative stories about foreigners in order to validate and justify the government's policies should not be underestimated.
