Andaman Blue Sky- Phuket

We have booked our holiday to BKK, Phuket and Phi Phi from the UK via Andaman Blue Sky Travel in Phuket. Has anyone used this travel agent before? We are having a few problems getting our flight confirmation through and I was just wondering if anyone else had any experience of them.

Have you tried googling them? Their very basic web page's links don't even work. Hope you haven't paid them any money.

Yes we have googled them and have found neither positive or negative reports. My In-laws who have booked the holiday have used them before in Thailand and they have a shop in Phuket so we know they do exist as a travel agent! Yes unfortunatly they have paid some money but are in constant touch with the agent who insists that he will send the confirmation shortly (every day!)

Is there some way that Thai travel agents get cheper tickets if they wait until the last minute to book? as it does seem like he is stalling for time.

We are in exaclty the same position as you, having paid Mr Nok at Andaman Bluesky for the tickets over a week ago, we have not yet received any confirmation. These are promised tomorrow (again!), so I will update this forum then and let you know what happened. Have you had any luck with your tickets yet?

We are in exaclty the same position as you, having paid Mr Nok at Andaman Bluesky for the tickets over a week ago, we have not yet received any confirmation. They are located opposite the Best Western, Bang Tao Beach... but good luck finding Mr Nok, he spends very little time in the office, probably for obvious reasons. They also go by the name of Paksamanee Travel and Tour.

At this point I am thinking severe cash flow problems, although am still hoping that we may get our tickets.... will update.

BTW do not take the Amadeus reference number as proof of anything, you will need to phone the airline and check if it has been ticketed, without the e-ticket number (which means the airline has been paid) you will not be able to get on the flight.

They have now declared bankruptcy, the office is closed with a sign simply saying "Off"... it looks like we have lost all our money. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM AS I HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE MR NOK IS STILL TRYING TO CONDUCT BUSINESS.

Sorry to hear you have been ripped off. If you paid by credit card you may get your money back. Its sad just how careful we have to be to avoid this type of thing. The trouble is it doesn't matter how careful we are, or how good a small company was in the past, they can shut up shop overnight and bugger off...

The office has reopened. This is just a message to say DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. Mr Nok is a conman.

DO NOT rent or buy a car or motorbike with them as the car/bike is not owned by them and the owner will track it down and take it back as he has not paid them, if you think of buying you will never get the ownership book.

DO NOT buy flights, the flights will appear for a few days on Checkmytrip.com.... this just means that the booking has been made, the flight has not been paid for and no ticket number is ever issued... this means you cannot take the flight.

DO NOT book a hotel through them, they will issue a voucher which is not worth the paper it is printed on, again they have not paid the hotel so you will not be able to check in.

They are not a member of the TAT which means that you have no insurance and no means of making a complaint. The police already have a huge file on the man, who clearly he has bribed in some way in order for the office to remain open.

Unless he is operating 'cash only' he must have a credit card facility. Why not contact them - they will stop the facility.

Thanks for all the replies:

We have now returned and were definately well and truly ripped off by Mr.Nok. He promised that he had booked our flights and accomodation (1 night BKK 6 nights Phi Phi and 7 nights Phuket) as well as all transfers. However we ended up booking our own flights and the 1st 2 hotels. (BKK and Phi Phi) before departure as we didnt trust him to have done it.

Whilst at the Phi Phi Cabana hotel we discovered that Mr Nok had definately not made a booking for us there and to make things worse he was blacklisted by them!

We were in contact with him whilst in Phi Phi and he insisted that he had booked the hotel when he blatantly hadnt,he even said he was going to fax the confirmation for both hotels to the Cabana (it never arrived!)

On arrival in Phuket from Phi Phi there was a taxi waiting for us to take us to the Dusit Hotel, however we insisted that the taxi driver take us to the shop.Mr Nok wasnt there but one of his staff was and he gave us a voucher for the Dusit, on arrival and check in everything seemed fine and we thought we may have got at least something out of him.

Two days in to the stay, however we had a message from reception to say that there was a problem. It turns out Mr Nok had booked The Dusit 10minutes before we arrived and said he would pay for it the next day,which he obviously didnt. The manager had tried going to Mr. Nok's shop but discovered the OFF sign so the only option he had was to ask us to pay again, which unfortunately my boyfriends mum and stepdad had to do. The manager was very helpful and took them to the police station where they made a statement and discovered that there was a large file on Mr Nok and there were other people there who had been ripped off by him. They were told that there was a chance they would get at least some money back if they could find the elusive Mr.Nok

My boyfriends parents are still in touch with the manager at the Dusit who has kindly offered to act on their behalf. The latest news we have is that Mr.Nok and his wife have been arrested so hopefully at the very least it will prevent other people being ripped off by this con merchant.
