come on guys, if you have a closed forum, fine, but do you really need to advertise to the whole thai visa that everyone except 'special people' are excluded?

I'm in it & to be honest it's a bit boring, lots of political stuff between a couple of polar end views on american politics, not a lot to see! It was set up as a test forum of sorts, whats the VIP's don't realise is they are taking part in a secret government study on expats in LOS

Seriously though, theres not a lot to be bothered about as theres not a lot going on, it's unmoderated & the pro/against Bush brigade (you know who you are ) keep it pretty uninteresting!

I would have replied honestly earlier by saying that the vip room was a waste of time and that you were'nt missing anything, but instead I made a cheeky remark which was meant in jest, but you've got your knickers in a twist and spat your dummy out over it. If you've been in LOS for a while you'll have noticed that Thais love to debate/discuss politics. It would be nice to get some input from Thais as well but the VIP Room can serve as a venue for discussing the gamut - everything from music to American/European politics. Can be like the channel on your television - don't like what you see, change the channel?

As we have a senior moderator participating in the debate, I thought to continue as well.

Since I'm currently stuck in the states until January, I'm simply presenting the view from "over here" as it were. If everyone cared for the same it would be a pretty uninteresting forum!

Right...I'm all for a little divergent content in there as well but TV seems to be going through a "slow" period right now with little original/creative input. Plus, the Bearpit is about dead due to overmoderation so here we (me) are!

There are many rules to which members of the VIP room must adhere. But the over-riding, number one, most important rule of all is that anyone criticising it's existence will never, ever be let in!

We've got quite a few threads about this bloody protected section. IMO, it's just a bad choice of word. Members allowed in there are not really VIP. IamMaiC was allowed in there, for goodness' sake.

Dont fret over it Miss. I am one of the most senior members on the forum, been a member longer than most of the moderators have been, and was never invited to be in there either. Its no big deal........the best sections of the forum are the ones open to all anyway.
