Thai International are quoting Baht 180,000 without taxes for a flight to london next month on the basis of economy restricted for one person. Do they know something about oil prices that the rest of us don't know?

The surcharges are coming down, very slowly.

At 77$ there should be no surcharge, it's last year oct price, but the airlines are broken.

I paid 210E on my KLM flight AMS to BKK 2 month ago (a robbery), now the return is 174E.

Bangkok Airways BKK-SAMUI is 5$ less, and all december days all flights are empty as today....

Am I the only one tourist to Samui this december? :o

Last year at this time december was practically full after the 15th.....

Airlines are still hurting I think they will be hard pressed to reduce any prices unless the market dictates it. (ie other airlines cut prices)

Airlines listened to "experts" who advised that "oil under 100$ is thing of the past" and hedged their supplies at 100, 110, 120$ back in July when oil hit 147$.

Now they are consuming their stock at that "favourable" price.

Similar breed of criminals as those who caused financial crash. At least some were the the very same characters who moved to make another boom.

No-one is consuming stock at $110/120 and up ! Hedges are only used if the spot price is higher than the option price. Otherwise the options are not exercised.

The fares are coming down slowly, But airline dont want to fly partly full planes , The fares will drop
