Retirement / Re-entry Visa

Hi, I'm currently in the UK, returning to Thailand in November. I have a retirement visa, which lasts until the end of May 2009, and a multiple re-entry visa, ( unused so far), which also expires in May 2009.

a) Will I be allowed into Thailand if I only buy a one way ticket (UK to BKK)? As I will have to return to the UK in the New Year, but I'm not sure when.

If a) is OK, how long will I get to stay in Thailand, on my arrival at the airport - I expect 90 days, then renew the retirement visa by post, is this correct?

c) Is it easy to book tickets from BKK to the UK when I'm in Thailand? I've never done this before, always had return tickets. Any recommendations would be helpful.

d) Will I be able to get Thaivisa Health insurance for my stay? As insurance for up to six months bought in the UK is very expensive.

I think you have a retirement extension and a multi re entry permit.

When you return you should be stamped until the end of may.

About 3 weeks before your extension expires you have to go back to Immigration and do the whole thing all over again.

Please try and understand your Immigration status or you will have all sorts of problems.

Yes, it looks very much like you are on a retirement extension of stay and on this basis it is:

a) Yes, because you have a re-entry permit.

Yes. On the arrival card, enter the details of your re-entry permit in the space for visa.

c) Yes. You can buy a ticket at any travel agent or online.

d) Send them an email to ask.
